Videos - Nov 9, 2008

I thought it might be a cool idea for me to post some links every so often to some videos I’ve come across.

Also, are there any questions you have that you want to ask me? Post them in the comments :)

(PS: Feel free to request graphics, or anything else, by sending me a message: nerdspeak.org/contact All you have to do is ask!)

Eugh. - Nov 5, 2008

This is not the swearing blog I told you I’d post, and it’s not the winner of the poll either. (Which was the blind person story, hands down!)

But this does contain swearing, so click read more…

(And expect this post to expand as and when I have the time.)

Poll! - Oct 30, 2008

Decide what I blog about next! Either:

A. The time I was molested by a blind person

or

B. The time I nearly punched a teacher.

Blog-a-doodle - Oct 27, 2008

How good am I? I am actually blogging when I said I would!

… But I’m afraid it’s not all good news. This will be a lack-lustre attempt at a blog because, surprise-surprise, I have no time to do this. (And I certainly hope this is indeed bad new to you—without sounding pretentious!)

So this is how I’m going to do it:

  1. Quick
  2. Bullet-pointed, ordered lists
  3. of everything I’ve been up to
  4. with a hint of what’s to come

(See how I conveyed that information in the exact method it was describing? Bloomin’ genious!)

Before I start, you must know one thing: I’m freezing, it’s freezing, and it feels that there will never be sunlight again. Exaggeration? No. It is, quite literally, warmer in the fridge than it is outside. Just so you know incase I develop hypothermia and am rendered unable to complete this blog until next July, when my fingers begin to thaw.

  1. I passed that English test I was telling you about. I also passed the other one, which I may not have told you about. Either way, I’m happy :)

  2. Last week was the school’s mid-October-Autumn-nearly-winter-attempt-to-relieve-stress (or what you will) holiday. I went to France with my family for the whole week. It was great, but things in France are different to how things happen in Scotland. First of all, it’s warm in France. It was almost like our Scottish summer. I think the lowest temperature was 16 degrees centigrade. If you’ve ever experienced Scottish weather (Kimberrley!), you’ll understand than minimum temperatures of 16 degrees are very welcome. The other thing is that milk tastes different—I think this is because they don’t pasteurise their milk to the same degree as we do. This may sound terribly trivial, but I like milk! I didn’t miss my friends or family most when away—I missed milk and duvets (and chocolate, oddly enough). So you can tell what kind of life I live.

We stayed in Normandy and visited Caen, Bayeux, Rouen, Lisieux, and others. We did all the ‘tourist’ things, visiting landmarks and famous attractions.

As my Dad is a priest, he was keen to visit the local churches (and some of them are famous because of Sainte Thérèse). I didn’t mind this because it allowed me to take photos like the one above and:

You can see more @ http://jonathanreed.deviantart.com.

To summarise, France = good, warm, fun.

  1. Site-wise, I’m developing your Christmas ‘present’—hope you will like it :)

  2. Someone called Turhan commented on the post before the last one, and I visited his site to have a look around, and he has added me to his ‘Blogs’ section. It’s nice to know someone reads my blogs. Thanks, Turhan! Go show him some love: http://omgitsturhan.com

(I’ve yet to return the comments…)

Blog over.

I recommend that you do not place any sort of bet on the arrival of any sort of non-procrastinary (new word, put it in your dictionaries!) post ever.

Oh, I do hope this “post” transforms into a blog.

Sorry, this computer isn’t plugged into the Hogwarts network, is it? No magically appearing blogs then…

But in all seriousness, if I don’t blog soon, I will go insane. (Perhaps I could document that in a blog-type textual presentation? … Ooft, I don’t know where I’m going with this.)
